Progress stored in your browser
Bored Spreadsheet may store local gameplay progress in your browser so games can remember personal bests, unfinished Daily Close selections, completed reports, workweek runs, and earned or used PTO credits.
Challenges and office leagues
When you open or play a score-to-beat link, challenge progress and the comparison result may be stored in your browser. Permanent challenge records store the shared ledger reference and score metrics, but not selected rows, answers, names, email addresses, IP addresses, or raw user-agent strings. Public challenge pages identify the sender only as “A coworker.”
Office leagues are unlisted rather than publicly searchable. Anyone holding a league link can see its name and aggregate activity; member aliases, standings, and weekly reports require a league seat. Anonymous membership uses a secret token stored in your browser; only a one-way hash of that token is stored by Bored Spreadsheet. League records do not expose account emails, user IDs, anonymous IDs, or membership tokens. Use a nickname rather than a legal name.
Accounts and payments
If you create an account, the app may store your email, profile display name, scores, premium unlock status, and leaderboard entries.
Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. Bored Spreadsheet does not store full card details.
First-party product analytics
First-party analytics are used to understand page visits, active time, gameplay starts and outcomes, sharing actions, challenge opens, challenge starts, challenge comparisons, league creation, invite opens, joins, accepted league results, report actions, errors, and retention so the app can be improved.
League names and aliases are not included in product telemetry. A copied card, downloaded image, or completed native-share action is recorded only as a send proxy; Bored Spreadsheet cannot tell whether Slack, Teams, or another recipient actually received it.
Deliberately coarse device reporting
Device and browser reporting is deliberately coarse. Bored Spreadsheet stores a device class, browser family, operating-system family, and whether an event occurred on an English or Simplified Chinese route. The language value is derived from the page path; arbitrary browser-language settings are not stored.
Bored Spreadsheet does not store raw user-agent strings, IP addresses, full query strings, or fingerprinting identifiers in its product analytics.
